EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ – Consumer Credit Counseling Service of South Jersey (CCCS), a program of Family Service Association (FSA), which is a private, not-for-profit, multi-service agency, announced today its merger with Houston-based Consumer Credit Counseling Service of South Jersey (CCCS). With seven convenient offices, CCCS of South Jersey has provided consumer credit counseling services throughout South Jersey communities since 1990. Thousands of individuals have avoided bankruptcy and other financial difficulties through the services offered by CCCS of South Jersey.
"This merger represents our commitment to providing our clients and community with the highest quality consumer credit counseling services and financial education," said Jerome Johnson, President & CEO of Family Service Association. "We will continue to help people regain control of their finances by offering one-on-one, in-person counseling in our local offices, and this merger with CCCS now provides consumers with 24 hour, 7 day a week counseling by telephone and Internet."
The merger follows a growing trend in the credit counseling industry to combine agency strengths to improve and expand services. CCCS, A Division of Money Management International is the twelfth agency since 2000 to merge with CCCS. Previous mergers include agencies in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Louisiana, Colorado, California and Maine.

CCCS is now the largest full-service non-profit credit counseling organization in the United States with over 100 branch offices in fifteen states. The combined organization will operate locally under the Consumer Credit Counseling of South Jersey name and nationally under the name CCCS. CCCS will remain a member of both the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies (AICCCA).
